I have been debating on what I should title this blog. As of 3 o’clock this morning I was awake in bed with several titles flying thru my mind. How do I respond to the results of the 2012 Presidential Election? They range from, “Now What?” to “So This is It?”, or even, “So This Is The Way You Want To Go?” to being so blunt as to say, “Really?” I was thinking of what to say, spew my opinion, vent my anger, share in my disappointment, and really write a diatribe on how I felt about the election.
After 2 hours of running a thousand thoughts thru my sleepy mind my alarm went off and I awoke to more questions on what my response should or would be. I skipped the morning treadmill and sat and watched the news just to see and listen to what the people had to say. Then during breakfast it came to me. “Faith”.
In my Bible reading I read Hebrews 10:23 “let us hold fast the confession of our hope that it waiver not; for he is faithful that promised:”How often is it we see the Faithfulness of God? Every day! In knowing that God is and will be faithful to His word, it allows us to be faithful in Him. That’s where I want to go with this. I could sit and write a whole bunch of negative conatations, but what will that accomplish? So I thought I would focus on God’s Faithfulness. Our hope is in God and in Hebrews 10:23 we are told to hold fast to the confession that He (being God) is Faithful to what He promised. He confessed to His people that He would be Faithful to Himself, and to us.
When that happens and I see God being Faithful to Himself, I can remain faithful in Him for He never changes. Writing a page full of negative, sarcastic, and ugly sentences will not change or make anything better. Sure it would make me feel better after I vent, but again it will last but a little while. If I choose to put my faith in God and His Faithfulness, than whoever is in office it won’t matter how I feel about it! It’s what God allowed. So I will humble myself and realize God knows better than I do. In fact it even says in 2 Chron 7:14 “ If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I don’t need to and I won’t have to worry, God’s got this! One last scripture just to finalize Gods authority: “I am the Alpha and Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty” That settles it for me!
